Rickey Medlocke Net Worth
Rickey Medlocke is an American guitarist born February 17, 1950 in Jacksonville, Florida to Shorty Medlocke (a Delta blues musician). With the encouragement of Shorty’s bandleader grandfather Shorty Medlocke – himself an established Delta blues musician – Rickey taught himself drums and guitar at an early age before starting his first band by age 14. Since then he has played professionally over 25 years building an extensive musical legacy while amassing an estimated net worth estimated to be $3 Million dollars.
Medlocke started his musical career playing bass guitar and drums for Blackfoot before transitioning into Lynyrd Skynyrd for two years before leaving to rejoin Blackfoot again – until Gary Rossington persuaded him to become part of his new group, becoming its permanent guitarist since 1996. Additionally, Medlocke collaborated with other musicians while being featured in numerous television programs.
Although his income remains unpublicized, Medlocke is believed to make a substantial amount from the group. Members of his band – including Medlocke – enjoy an enormous fanbase; their albums rank among the best-selling rock records ever; their hit songs like ‘Free Bird’ and ‘Tuesday’s Gone’ have often made the top of charts worldwide and they are honored as part of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Medlocke’s other hobbies and interests include flying helicopters and horseback riding, participating in charity events and amassing over 100k followers on social media (100K on Instagram alone!). He has also hosted television shows as a guest host as well as being interviewed by numerous publications.
He is both a member of Lynyrd Skynyrd and an established solo artist, having released two studio albums under his own name. Additionally, he has performed live with many bands, including Lynyrd Skynyrd (in their present lineup) as well as Ronnie Van Zant’s band (recently appearing multiple times with them). He has also made regular appearances at music festivals. Going forward, he plans on releasing more records and touring with old Lynyrd Skynyrd friends. His success serves as an inspiration to younger musicians alike. He is also an excellent father and husband; we wish him success in all his future endeavours!
