Jennifer Kitna

Jennifer Kitna is the daughter of a renowned football coach, Jon Kitna. Her father, Charles Kitna, passed away when she was just a few years old. Her sister and other children survived him. She also learned that her ancestors originated from the Tikar Tribe in Cameroon. When she was a child, she dreamed of becoming a teacher and later, met Jon Kitna at Central Washington University. Jon Kitna went on to have a successful NFL career, and Jennifer stood by him throughout his career. She also worked as a teacher/educator, volunteered in churches, and organized charity events.

Jon Kitna

Jon Kitna is a former American football quarterback. He played for the Detroit Lions, the Cincinnati Bengals, and the Seattle Seahawks. After playing college football at Central Washington University, he was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Seahawks. His career lasted for six seasons.

After retiring from the NFL, Jon Kitna took a job teaching high school mathematics. He had attended Central Washington University without financial aid and became the starting quarterback for the team. Later, he qualified to play on the practice squad for the Seattle Seahawks. During his career, he earned over $30 million and was married with four children.

In his first season, Kitna was the third-string quarterback. He played in the first five games of the season, but missed the next two due to injury. However, his fourth-quarter start against the Tennessee Oilers earned him AFC Offensive Player of the Week honors. In addition to leading the offense on a field goal drive, Kitna completed 13-of-24 passes for 76 yards with two interceptions. The team eventually lost the game, 37-3.

Jon Kitna’s greatest commitment is to his family. He has three biological children and two legal children. Jon and his wife Jeni have also adopted two teenage cousins, Jamison and Jalen. Jon Kitna has a strong faith in Proverbs 22:6 which helps guide children in the right direction.

After his senior year of college, Kitna thought his football career was over. He completed his degree in math education at Central Washington and applied for high school coaching positions. He had to wait for a few years before he could land his first NFL contract. Eventually, he was signed by the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent.

Jon Kitna’s rookie season was memorable for two reasons. First, he was the third-string quarterback behind Warren Moon and John Friesz. His first career start came when Moon went down with rib injuries against the Oakland Raiders. This led to the Seahawks’ second-largest comeback in franchise history.
