Aarti sequeira is an Indian American chef, cookbook author, and television personality. She hosts Aarti Party on Food Network and serves as a judge on the Food Network show Halloween Wars. She has also written a cookbook entitled An American Kitchen with an Indian Soul.

Sequeira was born in Mumbai, India on August 19th, 1978 and is of dual nationality with both Indian and American citizenship. She is a graduate of Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, where she studied Media, Integrated and Marketing Communications.

After graduating, she worked for CNN as a news producer until 2003 before moving to Los Angeles, California, where she trained at the New School of Cooking in Culver City and became certified as a professional chef. She won the sixth season of Food Network Star, an American reality television competition where she competed against 12 other contestants in cooking and on-camera challenges to win her own culinary show.

Aarti is a wife and mother, and her family is one of her greatest passions. She has two daughters, Eliyah and Moses, with her husband Brendan McNamara. She is an ardent advocate for women suffering from postpartum depression after her own battle with the condition following the births of her children. The family lives in Los Angeles. Aarti is a devoted Christian and often speaks to other women about her experience and how to overcome fear.
