Sally Shorr, One of Weight Watchers’ Most Popular Speakers, Has Passed Away

One of the most popular speakers for Weight Watchers, Sally Shorr, recently passed away after a long battle with coronary artery disease. Born in Warsaw, Poland, Sally was sixteen stone when she met her future husband, Paul. When they stopped dieting, they lost touch, but eventually met up on a dating app. They fell in love and decided to get skinny together. They’ve been together ever since.

The two Lipperts’ love affair with Nidetch led to the creation of Weight Watchers, which grew rapidly under their leadership. Nidetch resigned as president in 1973 and devoted herself to public relations. Albert Lippert continued to build the company. He hired staff in advertising, marketing, licensing, and nutrition. The four co-founders shared their knowledge and expertise in order to create a company that was successful in helping millions of people lose weight.
