Marilyn Mosby is the present State’s Attorney of Baltimore City. She is a lawyer and served as a regulation clerk before joining the state’s attorney’s office.
She was born on January 22, 1980 and currently lives in Reservoir Hill neighborhood of Baltimore, Maryland with her husband, Nick Mosby. They have two children.

Her office is also revamping the way it handles complex cases, a move that she credited to her experience prosecuting the Freddie Gray case and other violent crimes. Its new team is made up of lawyers who work together to focus on criminal justice issues and create policy changes that will make the system work better.
She also created a special unit to fight crime in high-poverty areas of the city. The goal is to make Baltimore a safer place by addressing the causes of crime and working with law enforcement to prevent crime from happening in the first place.
During her term as the State’s Legal professional, she has taken several out-of-state trips for the purpose of learning about different ways of solving crime. She has visited Kenya, Scotland and Germany.
In her defense to the charges, she says the travel businesses were long-term ventures that she never intended to operate as the State’s Legal professional. In addition, she claims the value of her retirement portfolio has significantly declined over the pandemic period because of the coronavirus.
The federal indictment alleges that Mosby illegally accessed $40,000 from her tax-deferred retirement account to purchase a Florida vacation home. She also allegedly failed to disclose that she was subject to a federal tax lien on her property.
She also lied about her income, which prosecutors allege she received from the travel companies. She allegedly used her personal credit cards to pay for the vacation homes and a condo in Long Boat Key, Florida. She has pleaded not guilty to the mortgage fraud and perjury charges. She has denied any wrongdoing and has called the case a political witch hunt.
