Kenneth Earl “Kene” Holliday was born in Copiague, Suffolk County, New York USA on June 25, 1949 and is best-known as Sergeant Curtis Baker from Carter Country on television. Additionally, Holliday has published several collections of poetry books as well as acting in several movies for which he received many awards for acting.
At Maryland on a football scholarship, he became known as an incredible scorer on the field; but decided to pursue acting after taking a class on theater history. Inspired by this class, he found his calling and performed in The Hairy Ape college play on its main stage during college years – eventually going on to receive his Bachelor of Arts degree and work at Folger Shakespeare Library before founding and conducting various workshops at D.C. Black Repertory Company as well.
Kene Holliday began his acting career on New York stage and Off-Broadway plays, and quickly rose to become one of its stars. Kene also starred on TV series such as Philadelphia Experiment and guested on other programs such as Andy Griffith Show. Kene has appeared in over 60 films since 1990, receiving four nominations.
