Hacksaw Jim Duggan is an American professional wrestler best known for his tenure with World Wrestling Federation (WWF), where he won their inaugural Royal Rumble match and several championships across both WWF and World Championship Wrestling (WCW). Duggan was married to Debra and shared two daughters together before becoming devout Christian; often participating in charity events throughout his career.
Duggan was born on January 14th 1954 and began wrestling in the late 70s at Glens Falls, New York. Quickly becoming popular, Duggan quickly earned fans with his trademark twox4 and “Hooooo!” shout. Duggan trained at both Sportatorium in Dallas Texas as well as with Samoan wrestling promoter Peter Maivia before eventually changing roles into face. Duggan later joined Demolition Stable becoming World Tag Team Champion during that same decade.
