Located on the corner of Oak and West Oak streets, Daddy Rich’s serves moderately priced soul food. The restaurant has been open for about a year and is being operated by R&B Team Investments, LLC. The owners hope to expand the business with a second dine-in location and an online presence.
The restaurant is part of a group of chefs who are trying to get more restaurants in low-income areas. Its members go through a kitchen incubator, Chef Space, which is located on Muhammad Ali Boulevard at 18th Street in the Russell neighborhood. The members can try out their restaurant concepts for 120 days. Daddy Rich’s is one of the restaurants that came out of this incubator. Its name is a play on the word “taste.”
