Aqualung Calypso Regulator Recall

An Aqualung Calypso regulator recall is underway. The company is recalling these regulators due to a quality defect. The problem involves variations in the manufacturing process. Only some regulators are affected, and the affected models are identified by CPNs and serial numbers. The affected regulators may have a hole that was drilled out of specification in the high-pressure port. This can cause the thin wall section to rupture when placed under pressure. The affected bodies were tested to ensure they would not rupture during a dive, but it is still a safety concern.

The regulators affected by this recall were manufactured between May 31, 2010 and April 16, 2012. This model has an LCD display and four magnetic control buttons located below the screen. The first four digits of the serial number can be found imprinted on the front of the unit. There are about 16,400 units affected by this recall.
